Loading the Cargo

And so Karl and Sarah meet up with the crew of the Kobukson where Carina, Michi, and Dorota are standing around the group table. On the table is a very large (about as tall as an eight year old girl) stuffed bear. Apparently, Captain Jordan's request was to transport this bear to Li Shen's Bazaar.

"So." Michi says, looking at the crew. "Here are the pieces. We've got people releasing smoke on the ground to cause issues. We've got Captain Jordan and her ship causing static for the Alliance in the air to cause issues with help from Karl's new friend. So we need to go, land on the outskirts of town, load the cargo, get out. And we need to come back and pick up this Tom guy."

Dorota eyes the bear. "Let's not look to see what's hiding inside it." Paranoid, anyone? Or just...some experience in smuggling. "We do. Guessing he doesn't want to wait until the end of his tour, eh?"

"Everyone to their seats." Michi says, then. She'll walk to the cockpit, sit down, and announce the ship's departure as required by procedure.

Dorota ducks back into engineering where she belongs. Her own personal briar patch, as it were. She straps in back there. "Ready for departure." At least they do have nice, new, well-tuned engines.

Carina secures her little red wagon under her bunk in her quarters, and then makes her way to the cockpit and settles into the communications panel seat, where she usually sits to help out while being out of everyone else's way when the ship prepares for flight. Then she straps in, checks her harness, and reports. "In and secure, Captain." She solemnly swears that she's up to no good. Mischief Managed.

Sarah takes her typical spot in the medbay, staying out of the way unless something really goes sideways. She does click on the comlink to the cockpit, "Sarah here, ready to go."

Still under the influence of the headache that just won't quit, Karl has been trying to nurse it after relaying all the information he had. At departure time he straps himself in his usual spot.

With proper procedures followed, the Crew of the Kobukson head toward the large Cruiser ship where the Kobukson is ordered to dock. The cruiser is immense and three fighter ships circle around it like bees ready to sting. Once docked, a dozen soldiers follow behind the commander in charge. They swarm into the cargo bay demanding to see the crew's papers and inspect your ship.

"Where are you heading?" asks the commander in charge to Michi.

Michi turns over the papers as the ship is inspected. She names their destination. No need to lie. They really will be going there, after all. "Can't get work here and the Companion who we carry is demanding we find her a place she can pick up a client or two."

"hm. Companions can be high maintenance," The commander does a once over of the paperwork, approves it, and then signals his soldiers to regroup and leave. The whole process takes about two hours. According to calculations, the inside help should be ready to assist.

The ship undocks from the cruiser and heads out beyond its sensors before swinging around to come back into the planet's surface.

The Kobukson easily slips past the cruiser and lands at the rendezvous point. There is Jin as well as Chou's right hand man waiting for you with the cargo.

"Karl, get the cargo on board." Michi says. She'll leave Carina on the bridge and take a moment to talk to Jin and Chou's man. Make sure the next part of the plan is clear. "As soon as its on board, the smoke goes off. Same time, we've arranged for some static for the cruiser. We'll head out the way we came."

"Mr. Nom," Jin says as Michi approaches. "Everything is in place as you requested. My men are ready to load the cargo." Chous enforcer stands slightly behind Jin, surveying the area and looking ready to bust some heads if need be.

The cargo waits patiently consisting of a standard set of eight crates plus one very large and very powerful looking engine cut into two parts.

Dorota is staying on board the ship, keeping the engines hot so they can get out of there the second the cargo is loaded, unless anyone calls for her.

Karl steps forward to supervise and help with bringing the cargo on board the ship with as much efficiency as he can muster. There is a lot of pained grunting and pointing in the process.

"This is Karl." Michi says, motioning to the person in question. "He's in charge of my cargo hold. I'll leave him to it. I want to be in the pilot's seat and ready to go as soon as its done." She pauses, then says to Chou's man. "... he knows how to contact me now." And with that, she heads for the bridge and takes her seat. Keeping an eye on the sensors. Keeping the ship ready to launch. "Doc, can you go back up Karl? An extra set of eyes won't go amiss. Make sure the cargo is all they leave on our boat."

Sarah nods over towards Michi, "I'll back him up." She smiles a bit, "This is more my forte than smooth talking. Mei wen ti." With that, she gives Michi a wry look, then follows after Karl, just looking generally curious.

Carina remains in her seat at the communications station on the bridge, waiting pensively, keeping an eye on whatever the systems can pick up.

"Of course Mr. Nom," Jin says, turning to Karl for additional instructions. Once all is discussed, the cargo starts to move quickly and efficiently. Within little time, the first engine is put into the cargo hold with five out of the eight crates fit in between.

The sensors don't show anything unusual on the scans, merely traffic in the town moving as usual with no air traffic anywhere. That's why it comes as a surpise when vehicles are heard coming in close.

The Alliance has arrived.

Soldiers swarm out of vehicles, gunshots echoing in the air. Chou's men who are on guard pull their own guns returning fire. The crane is hauling the second engine into the cargo bay, halfway in and halfway out.

Sarah tosses one of her Custom Knockout Bombs towards a squad of Alliance Soldiers, the glass shattering easily in the midst of them as they cough for a few moments, then swoon and flop over. Pretty ungracefully too, as Sarah shouts, "ZOU GOU!" <Lackey Dogs!>

At the sudden arrival of the Alliance in all thier military agressiveness Karl momentairlt debates grabbign weapons and making a stand. Thankfully though Sara is on top of that with her sleepy gas. He goes from non-verbal to verbal right quick, shouting orders, and gesticulating rapidly about what goes where.

"We're working on keeping this a private party." Michi says into the ship's intercom as she flips switches and turns dials. "Get that cargo aboard!"

Determined to the point that the tip of her tongue peeks out past her teeth and lips, Carina works her communications board to the best of her ability, signalling the other Captains and activating the squawk boxes as they seek to jam up Alliance communications to at least limit this strike to only those troops already on site; they don't need extra trouble, damnit. "Hail Mary, Teddybear of Grace. Let 'em fly!"

Shots ring out everywhere, Dolphins drop, Alliance soldiers drop. No one is giving in easily.

Chou's enforcer hustles Jin to a vehicle, protecting his master's underling.

A group of soldiers aim their weapons toward Sarah who dropped a bunch of them. They manage to get a few shots off, hitting Sarah in the arm and the leg before the Dolphins surge and take down and/or force the rest to retreat.

With imminent death averted, the cargo makes it onto the ship, the doors closed and ready for departure.

From the Comms, Jin speaks on the group Frequency. "Good job. Safe Travels. Chou sends his regards." And with that, the Kobukson takes off to the simultaneously timed explosions all over the town, causing mass confusion and hysteria.
