TWISTS AND TURNS

On the fourth floor of the medical facility, Carina watches the scene unfold before her. Dr. Long speaks into her phone to tell security to engage the intruders. On the screens, four orderlies and two guards meet up and go to converge on the crew of the Kobukson who are gathering up Brennan Hughs from his bed to carry him out of the facility.

"Got it boss." Karl goes down the hall a bit toward the hospital guards, or whoever it is coming there way, while the rest head to the stairs or wherever. Quickly cycling the action the man lifts the rifle and takes aim at the fire extingusher down the hall and in the path of those oncoming. Pulling the trigger he lets lead fly, the report of the weapon echoing up and down the hall. The bullet hits the extingusher with a ping and that end of the hallway fills with its contents. As soon as the extingusher is hit the bullet richots and hits an orderly and he goes down with a surprised yelp of pain.

The two guards pause and crouch as the foam from the fire extinguisher fills the air. They both shoot at where they think Karl is, their guns return echoing down the hallway missing wildly. The gunshots hit one of the nearby doors.

A blood curdling scream echoes from behind the closed door followed by a loud banging on the door. The damaged door buckles as a mass of flesh and fabric hurtles out of it to hit the wall on the other side of the hallway. From the look of the tattered, practically falling off clothing, it might seem like this were one of the many homeless riddled throughout the verse but when he turns to you, the face screams tortured soul. Battered and bloodied, it looks like he were trying to scratch off the skin from his face. His lips are peeled back like he were stuck in mid scream, showing teeth stained with blood and patches of bald on his head suggest where hair were freshly pulled out. The entire sight is terrifying and evokes the basest of nightmares in anyone who lays eyes on that face.

On the fourth floor, the man and Dr. Long watch this scene unfold.

"Is that the patient?" The man asks.

"It is. He is quite strong and most resilient to sedatives." She sighs. "I've had enough trouble getting staff to work with him."

The man stands, straightening his suit as if there were a wrinkle in his flawlessly crisp pants. He pulls something from his suit pants that looks oddly like an oversized pen and shoots Dr. Long with it. She slumps forward unmoving.

"Thank you Doctor. I believe I have seen enough." The man walks over to the keyboard that Dr. Long was utilizing and begins bringing up files.

Dorota moves cautiously from the room, the man slung over her shoulder in a fireman's carry. She hesitates at the scream - a madman? Anything's possible in this place. Staying a bit behind Karl, she does not take action beyond...well, being ready to make sure neither she nor her unconscious burden get shot.

Sarah moves out into the hallway, "Alright, we need to mo..." She pauses, and takes a good look at the madman that just busted out of his room, "Zao gao!" (We got trouble!)

Aghast, Carina covers her mouth with her hand to blot out the gasp of horror as she catches sight of Dr. Long's apparent demise. She burrows back under cover, watching as best she can but making ita priority to stay hidden and undetected. SHe wants to save Dr. Long, but she cannot see enough of the woman's injury from the silent 'shot' to assess what she is faced with, and coming out to do so would only put herself at unacceptable, untenable risk.

Michi swears, quietly. She motions towards the others to move back, "Things just got worse. Lots worse. That looks exactly like what a reaver should look like." She whispers, "... and there's a lot of bad between us and the door. We're going to wait and see what's what before we run." Sometimes hte best way to win the race is hang back and let the other drivers take each other out.

When the Madman bursts through the broken door, there is a moment of almost silence as the shock of the situation sets in. The Madman is the first to break the silence as it launches itself on one of the three remaining orderlies with teeth and nails. The other two fall back along with the guards, seemingly wary to engage this madman.

The man on the fourth floor looks like he's deleting files.

The sudden appearance of the nightmarish Madman has Karl reeling a bit. It's not everyday nightmares come to life. Not that he has nightmares that often, but if he did...Seeing the Madman go after the orderlies he waves the others past "I got your backs, move, move, move." he says into whatever commsystem they are using while he keeps his weapon up and pointed at the Reaver like creature.

As quickly as she can, given her current encumbered state, Dorota moves past the madman. She peeks around the corner...and a shot zooms past her head, barely missing her. She ducks back quickly. Okay, this might take some timing. And help.

Sarah pauses as Dorota nearly gets shot, then frowns as she slips past the insane guy to close on the corner. She looks over at Dorota, "Stay down." Suddenly, the good doctor reveals a rather wicked and modern looking pistol, pivoting and taking one shot around the corner, then ducking back as there's a shriek as one of the guards takes that bullet in the knee.

Michi's tempted to just let this... thing chew on the security guard. Its what they get for doing whatever the fuck they're doing in this gorram place. But... but that security guard's a person. And no one deserves what's coming next. With a flick of a wrist, one of her knives slides down into her hand. She draws back and lets fly. The dagger imbeded itself in the would-be reaver's temple, straight into the brain.

Seeing things unfolding on the monitors, Carina finally decides she cannot wait any longer. She is afraid, worried she can't get this done, but she needs to neutralize this man before he can find her ... or prevent her friends from escaping safely. She fetches her war fans from her purse, unnecessary for the night's earlier activities, and frees herself from her cover, sprinting swiftly across the intervening space and lashing out, striking him on the temple with her fan to drop him to the ground. Then she swiftly secures him, and checks on Dr. Long as she taps her comlink. "Long has been shot. Some outsider is here, knew about her experiments, and was able to pressure her. Then he shot her and was deleting all of her data. I've knocked him out. Now what? Oh ... I can see you on the monitors in front of me. I should have said that. Good shot, Michi."
