Power Casting
Sometimes, a spellcaster needs more oomph, more effective casting power than he or she has available, whether it be to do enough damage to take down a dangerous foe, or to overcome some resistance. The feat of Power Casting involves specialized training by the spellcaster in marshaling the energies necessary to boost their power level for that one big push. For each step the caster needs to push things, they need more and more power, and it becomes more difficult to accomplish successfully. Note that if the Spellcraft check fails, the extra spell points or spell levels are lost anyway; they simply do not improve the effective casting level of the main spell. Note that the spellcaster can achieve a bonus of +2 on the Spellcraft DC by taking their time in the casting of the spell to marshal the extra energies. For a spell with a normal casting time of a standard action, this bonus can be achieved by taking a full round action to cast the spell. For a spell with a normal casting time of a full round, two full rounds would be required. If the caster is free to attempt to take 20 on the roll, the casting time is at least one minute.

+4 | 10 | 7 per level of spell | 25 |
+5 | 15 | 10 per level of spell | 30 |
+6 | 21 | 15 per level of spell | 36 |
