Roughly an hour has passed since the crew of the Kobukson returned to the ship, along with their guest the good doctor. Already disobeying orders, Michi Nom, the ship's co-captain has set herself up in the ship's common area. A mechanical device any skilled mechanic would recognize as the gear box of some sort of hover vehicle sits in various pieces on the table as Michi goes through each piece and cleans and polishes, inspecting carefully.

At least there's a glass of water nearby.

Sarah was spending the past hour inventorying and organizing the medbay. Such as it is, anyway. Now, though, she's decided to take a bit of a break, and heads towards the common area. Arriving and spotting Michi, she looks a bit resigned, sighing a bit as she says, "Just don't push it /too/ hard, alright?"

She's been working. Now, Dorota emerges from the engine room. "Is there any tea around here?" the engineer asks as she comes into the room, glancing at the gear box. Michi's a racer. Probably why he's...if he is the right pronoun, which she's not entirely sure on....such a good pilot.

"You want off this rock?" Michi asks Sarah, pointing at the woman with a spanner, "You asked to come along because you didn't want to be pouring sand out of your shoes for the next year, right? Then relax. Because tomorrow comes, chances are whatever we have to do to get the parts we need will be much worse than easy."

Sarah tilts her head, "Well, you can get me off this rock, and it's pretty clear you need a doctor, so win-win?" She hmms, "What exactly do you think we'll have to do?"

Dorota doesn't get an answer, which means she's going to start *looking* for tea. "Depends. Gary Felix has the parts. Depends on what trade we can work out with him. He's a decent guy."

"There's one box." Michi says, pointing. "Black. Don't take the last bag. I'll need it for the morning. If you ask nicely, Carina might lend you some leaves from the collection she keeps for her clients." Michi picks up a cylinder and looks through it. "I could race for the parts but my bike's not designed for this terrain. Not many are."

Sarah frowns, "Sounds remarkably vague, but... well, there's been worse times than this." She considers, "My practice, such as it was, wasn't exactly lucrative. But then I wasn't doing it for money."

"That's because I don't know what deal I can get. I'll do my best." Dorota finds a tea bag and a slightly battered mug. "Plain black is good enough for me. As long as it has caffeine."

"You don't need to get the deal. You need to introduce Carina to this guy and let her get the deal. Even if he's a hundred percent male loving, she'll still be able to charm circles around him." Michi notes. "What are you doing it for, Doc? Why are you on this planet? Who'd you kill on the table?"

Sarah arches a brow, "I didn't kill anyone on the table. It's a personal matter." She says, "Suffice to say that there are some people that aren't very happy with me."

Dorota makes her tea. "Companion trained, isn't she." Evenly spoken that, no accusation in it. Ignoring the accusation Michi makes at the doctor.

"Same's true of most people out here." Michi points out to Sarah. "You're bringing trouble aboard my boat, it is my business. I'd prefer you tell me who wants your hide before they come and try to take it from you and the rest of us end up dead, too." The captain puts the part down. "Carina is a companion. Registered. She'll be doing business here on occasion. We've designed the ship so her clients won't have to walk through any section we're in to get to her room, when she does business here."

Sarah crosses her arms, then gets a glass of water. Taking a drink from it, she looks at Michi, "The Blue Sun Corporation." She doesn't bother lying about it, "Since you're right, you do deserve to know who is looking for me." With that, she finishes the glass of water rapidly, setting down the empty glass.

Dorota nods. "Not many registered Companions have ever come to this dustball. Doubt many here can afford her time, but..." One shoulder lifts upwards. "Oh. Blue Sun."

"Came to this planet to pick up you." Michi motions with the spanner to Dorota. "Otherwise we wouldn't be here. Glad we did. They screwed us on the engine and you'll need to fix it. I can tinker but I can only go so far." She sets the spanner down, then takes a gulp of water. "Blue Sun's mostly out here in the stuff they sell. Not personally."

Sarah smiles wryly, "Which is why I've been here for the past little while, though now it's probably time to move onwards."

"They definitely did. I'd love to know how you got her down in one piece. Or maybe not." Dorota tugs the tea bag out then sips at her tea. "Who did this? I'd like to take a spanner to *them*." For shoddy workmanship and endangerment, of course.

Michi sits back, both hands wrapped around her cup. "Ship maker. They do it from parts from their scrapyard. Don't matter none now. Won't go back to them. You'll fix it. Or we'll be stuck here. I'm a good pilot but I can't fly a paperweight."

Sarah nods, "Well, if it's fixable, Dorota can handle it I'm certain." She gives Dorota a grin, then gets another glass of water.

"It's fixable," Dorota says confidently. "We might be stuck here for a bit, but I'll get this thing flying."

Michi nods, once. "Then we'll make a deal. You be as good a mechanic as I am a pilot and I'll be happy. I need to get to places where there are actual races. Carina needs to get to places where she can find actual clients. And apparently the doctor here needs to keep moving."

Sarah gives Michi a grin, "And it never hurts to have a doctor on board, right?"

"I'll do my best. Not sure I can keep up after that landing." More of the tea vanishes. "*I* am certainly happy to have a doctor on board."

"Depends on how steady her hands are." Michi points out. "Doctor can be the most dangerous person on the ship. Then again, so can anyone here. I can crash us." The captain motions toward Dorota. "She can sabotage us. Karl is, I hear, a crack shot with his rifle."

Sarah arches a brow at that, "Oh really." She holds up a hand, steady as a rock. "Never lost a patient on the table, not planning on starting now."

"And my professional pride keeps me from sabotaging anything," the engineer quips. "So, Karl's...is that why you keep him around?"

"Karl worked on the boat originally. Labor." Michi checks out the doctor's hands. "I already know they don't shake. You bandaged me up fine. Anyway, Karl asked to come along. Promised to do odd jobs. Carina and I decided to give him a chance."

Sarah nods, "Seems fair enough. Looked pretty competent from what I saw of him." Sounds like a bit of praise, there.

"Does he cook?" The tea is finished, Dorota looking for a place to put the dirty mug.

Michi begins reassembling the part. They go together quickly, obviously the result of years of practice. "Ain't had a lot for him to try but I sure hope so. I can make oatmeal and eggs. Carina can cook but she shouldn't have to."

Sarah hmms, "Well, I'm not really experienced at cooking, but I could try it at least. If nothing else, I can treat anyone that suffers food poisoning."

Dorota laughs. "I...honestly, I'm an indifferent cook at best. Which is why I was hoping he did."

"We'll get by." Michi finishes with the reassembly. "Dorota, foremost bunk on the port side is your's. Its closest to the engine room, something goes wrong. Doc, you can use the one next to the medbay. Same reasoning. Mine is just over there. Carina's opposite."

Sarah nods, "I'll toss my bag in there then. I travel pretty light." Which is a bit of an understatement, really.
